I have been working on lab setup since last couple of weeks, on Windows 8, for multiple Windows Server 2012 guests including Hyper-V. I've added and configured Windows 8 Hyper-V and created several VMs. Installed and configured DC, Storage server using Windows 2012 iSCSI Target feature. Last night, I was about to install and configure Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V. Olla, I figured out it's not possible to install any bare metal Hypervisor on Windows 8 Hyper-V. Tried to search online for any workaround, but noway.....
I started searching for alternative way to create lab with Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V roles on Windows 8, and it's VMware Workstation that allow us to do so. Starting from VMware Workstation 8 and later, we can actually install bare metal Hypervisor. These 2 links helped me to solve my issue and continue in lab setup:
